Fall Risk Reduction & Intervention
Falls Happen. Awareness, Risk Reduction, and Intervention— Because One Fall Can Change Everything.
Service Description
A fall can change everything — but many can be prevented with the right knowledge and approach. In this session, we’ll break down the most common causes of falls and share simple, evidence-based steps caregivers and loved ones can take to keep older adults safe at home or in care settings. Learn how to recognize risk factors, make small environmental adjustments, and respond calmly and effectively if a fall occurs. By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to: - Identify common risk factors that contribute to falls in older adults, including physical, environmental, and cognitive causes. - Apply practical strategies to reduce fall risk through environmental modifications and daily routines. - Recognize early warning signs of fall risk and when to seek professional intervention. - Demonstrate appropriate steps to take immediately following a fall to ensure safety and reduce injury. - Empower themselves and others to create safer, more supportive environments that promote confidence and independence.
